Ilona Sim

B.App.Sc. (Speech Pathology) Hons., M.S.P.A.A, C.P.S.P

Ilona Sim graduated from the University of Sydney as a speech pathologist with first class Honours. She is a certified practising member of Speech Pathology Association Australia. 

​

Ilona combines her past roles as a key worker, early childhood educator and ECEI planner with her passion to provide children and their families with holistic speech pathology support. She draws upon her experience in the not-for-profit sector where she worked closely with children who have complex communication needs associated with disabilities and developmental delays, e.g. Autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, Fragile X syndrome, intellectual disability, velocardiofacial syndrome, muscular dystrophy and various chromosomal abnormalities. Ilona has experience in using a range of low- to high-tech communication systems such as Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Proloquo2go, and LAMP Words for Life. Her additional training includes:

Ilona seeks to help families achieve meaningful goals by understanding the complexity of an individual’s communication needs and its impact on everyday life. She looks to empower individuals by building their capacity and extending their abilities from a strengths-based approach.
