Desiree Germain 

MSLP, BA (Psychology), M.S.P.A.A, CPSP

Desiree graduated with a Master of Speech Pathology from the University of Sydney in 2017, and is a certified practising member of Speech Pathology Australia. 

Desiree has experience working within a private practice environment and through Telehealth with a range of communication difficulties, including children with autism and other learning challenges. She particularly enjoys working with children on their language and literacy goals, as well as supporting children from bilingual families.

 

Desiree’s additional training and qualifications include:

  • Certificate in Francophone Practice for Speech Pathologists (University of Alberta)

  • Hanen’s It Takes Two to Talk Program for Late Talkers

  • Certified in the Sounds-Write Phonics Program 

  • Talk for Writing

  • Colourful Semantics

  • Gestalt Language Processing 

  • School-Aged Narrative Assessment & Intervention

  • Introductory DIR Floortime workshop

Desiree recognises the importance of working on functional goals to support her clients in their everyday lives. She approaches her clients from a neurodiversity-affirming perspective and believes all forms of communication should be recognised and celebrated.
